Hyundai Creta Accelerates to the Top Spot in June 2025 Sales Charts
SUV hits a sales high point in its 10th anniversary year with 15,786 units sold.
Hyundai Creta becomes India's highest-selling passenger vehicle in June 2025 with sales of 15,786 units, marking a significant achievement as the SUV completes its tenth year in the Indian market.
The mid-size SUV manufactured by Hyundai Motor India Limited secured the top position in the competitive passenger vehicle segment during June 2025. Creta has maintained its dominance as India's highest-selling SUV in the first half of 2025, from January through June. The model achieved the country's best-selling vehicle status three times during 2025, specifically in March, April, and June.
Since its launch in 2015, Creta has consistently held the position of highest-selling mid-size SUV in India for every completed year. The segment has become commonly referred to as the "Creta segment" due to the model's market leadership.
The Hyundai Creta’s position as the top-selling passenger vehicle in June 2025 aligns with broader trends in the Indian automotive sector, where mid-size SUVs continue to gain popularity. In the first half of 2025, SUVs accounted for a significant portion of Hyundai Motor India’s overall domestic sales, with the Creta contributing notably to this growth. Despite operational adjustments in May—such as scheduled plant maintenance—the model maintained steady sales performance, recording 14,860 units that month.
Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, "Creta is not just a product, it is an emotion for over 1.2 million Indian families. Over the last decade, brand Creta has consistently redefined the SUV space and remained a strong pillar of Hyundai's growth in India. Becoming the best-selling model in June 2025, exactly as it completes 10 years in the country, is a testament to the love and trust that Indian customers have placed in the brand. Infact Hyundai Creta has been the highest-selling mid-size SUV in the country every completed year since its launch in 2015."
The SUV has served over 1.2 million Indian families during its decade-long presence in the market. Creta has established itself across various usage patterns, from daily urban commuting to long-distance travel requirements.
The model incorporates technology features, safety systems, and design elements that have contributed to its market position among Indian consumers. Hyundai Motor India Limited recently introduced the Creta Electric variant, extending the nameplate into the electric vehicle segment as part of the company's sustainable mobility initiatives.
