Honda's Karnal Traffic Training Park Marks 8 Years of Road Safety Education
The facility, established in partnership with Karnal Traffic Police in October 2017, has provided road safety training to over one lakh residents across different age groups.
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India commemorated the eighth anniversary of its Traffic Training Park in Karnal, Haryana, on Thursday. The facility has trained more than one lakh individuals since its establishment in October 2017.
District Education Officer Sudesh Thukral attended the anniversary event, which featured participation from students of C.S. International School. Activities included safety riding theory sessions, quiz competitions, and a ceremony marking the milestone.
The park was inaugurated through a collaboration between Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India and Karnal Traffic Police. It serves as an educational hub where trained instructors conduct regular sessions for school children, college students, and daily commuters.
The Karnal facility forms part of HMSI's wider road safety network in India. The company operates 10 adopted traffic parks and six Safety Driving Education Centres across the country. According to HMSI, its road safety initiatives have reached over 10 million Indians since the company began operations in 2001.
HMSI has also launched E-Gurukul, a digital road safety learning platform offering training modules for age groups from 5 to 18 years. The platform provides content in multiple Indian languages including Hindi, English, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, and Tamil.
The company's road safety efforts align with Honda's global objective to achieve zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda vehicles by 2050, a target announced in April 2021.
HMSI stated it plans to continue expanding such community-based road safety initiatives and increase engagement with educational institutions across various states.
