Gromax Celebrates 25 Years of M&M-Gujarat Government Joint Venture

Gromax Agri Equipment Ltd. marks 25 years of strategic partnership between Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and the Government of Gujarat today, commemorating a quarter-century of providing mechanisation solutions to Indian farmers.

The company, initially established as Mahindra Gujarat Tractor Ltd. when Mahindra acquired its majority stake in 1999, was renamed Gromax Agri Equipment Ltd. in 2017. This name change reflected the company's evolving focus on delivering specialized agricultural equipment to India's farming community.

Over the past 25 years, Gromax has significantly expanded its product portfolio from just four tractor models to more than 40 variants in the 20-50HP segment under its TRAKSTAR and HINDUSTAN brands. The company also produces farm implements under the TRAKMATE brand.

To mark this milestone anniversary, Gromax has unveiled new four-wheel drive tractor models – the Trakstar 525 and Trakstar 536. Additionally, the company has introduced new two-wheel drive variants in the 24HP, 31HP, and 36HP categories specifically designed for orchard farming. In a move to appeal to younger farmers, Gromax has also released tractors in saffron and black color schemes.

"A milestone year for us at Mahindra & Mahindra, we are extremely proud of Gromax's remarkable journey of 25 years," said Mr. Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. "A reflection of our shared commitment to 'Transform Farming and Enrich Lives', Gromax is a brand defined to serve the farmers of our nation with the best farm equipment that are both affordable and accessible."

Sikka also expressed gratitude to customers, partners, the Government of Gujarat, and employees who have supported the company throughout its journey, adding that Mahindra looks forward to Gromax's next chapter of growth as they continue to support the mechanization of Indian farms.

The joint venture operates with an equity ratio of 60:40 between Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and the Government of Gujarat, respectively. Gromax's manufacturing facility is located in Vadodara, Gujarat.
