Bonfiglioli Transmissions Appoints New Chairperson and Independent Directors

Bonfiglioli Transmissions Limited has announced significant changes to its board composition, appointing Ravindra Pisharody as Chairperson and Independent Director while adding two new independent directors to strengthen its governance structure.

The company, which operates as one of India's leading mechanical and electro-mechanical power transmission solutions providers, confirmed the appointments of Sundaresan Ananthanarayanan and Rossella Schiavini as Independent Directors, effective February 2026.

Leadership Transition

Pisharody, who has been associated with the company since 2018, brings over 36 years of experience across marketing, sales, and the consumer industry. An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur with a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics & Electrical Communication Engineering, he also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Calcutta.

His career includes senior positions at Philips India Limited, BP India Private Limited, BP Singapore Pte Ltd, and Tata Motors Limited. He currently serves on the boards of Happy Forgings Limited, Kinara Capital Private Limited, Kwality Walls India Limited, Muthoot Finance Limited, Savita Greentec Limited, and Savita Oil Technologies Limited.

New Board Additions

Ananthanarayanan joins the board with qualifications in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. He was previously associated with Ammann India Pvt. Ltd, where he contributed to operational excellence in the infrastructure and industrial equipment sector. As of December 31, 2025, he holds a directorship in Ammann India Pvt. Ltd.

Schiavini brings international experience in corporate governance, finance, and strategic leadership. She holds a Master of Science in Politics of the World Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her background includes board positions at Immobiliare Grande Distribuzione SIIQ S.p.A. and BPER Banca S.p.A., with over seven years of board-level experience.

Company Operations

Bonfiglioli operates as a global designer and manufacturer of gearmotors, drive systems, planetary gearboxes, and inverters. The company maintains a presence in 80 countries with 23 commercial sites and 17 production facilities, supported by more than 550 distribution partners and approximately 5,000 employees worldwide.

In India, the company established its first manufacturing plant in Chennai in 1999. Current operations include manufacturing and assembly facilities in Chennai and Pune, serving both domestic and international markets. The company recently inaugurated a Global Technical Centre in Chennai, which collaborates with manufacturing plants and branches worldwide.
