Luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover sold a total of 52,332 vehicles in November 2017, a year-on-year increase of 10 percent. The growth was primarily driven by the introduction of its new Land Rover Discover and the Range Rover Velar.

The company says retail sales of Jaguar’s new compact SUV, the E-Pace, which was introduced in the UK and European market, helped it achieve the growth in sales. In overseas markets, sales rose by 19.7 percent, China (19.1 percent), UK (8.6 percent), North America (7.8 percent) and Europe (2.1 percent).

Commenting on the results, Andy Goss, group sales operations director, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “Jaguar sales have been more hard won but the future performance of both brands will be boosted as the new E-Pace goes on sale across the world and the new 2018 Model Year Range Rover and Range Rover Sport with plug-in hybrid capability go to market.”

Jaguar retail sales were 13,688 vehicles in November, down 6.3 percent compared to the same month last year, as sales of the long wheelbase XFL in China were more than offset by lower sales of XE.

Land Rover retailed 38,644 vehicles in November, up 17.2 percent compared to November of last year, primarily reflecting the sales ramp up of the new Discovery and the introduction of the Range Rover Velar partially offset by softer sales of the Range Rover Sport.

JLR says it will start retail sales of the refreshed Range Rover and Range Rover Sport (including plug-in hybrid variants) in 2018.
