TVS Motor revenues up 27 percent in 2014-15

TVS Motor, which launched the Scooty Zest 110 targeted at female riders and a commuter bike in 2014-15, saw its total sales revenue increase by 26.8 percent from Rs 7,965.94 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 10,098.22 crore in 2014-15.

Its overall two-wheeler sales including exports grew from 19.93 lakh units in 2013-14 to 24.09 lakh units in 2014-15. Motorcycle sales were up from 786,000 units in 2012-14 to 951,000 units in 2014-15

Scooter sales increased from 474,000 in 2013-14 to 700,000 units in 2014-15.Three-wheeler sales increased from 80,000 units to 108,000 units in 2014-15. Total exports increased from 309,000 units recorded in 2013-14 to 413,000 units in 2014-15.

During the year, the company introduced the Scooty Zest 110 and launched the Star City+, a limited edition Jupiter and an upgraded Wego.

In terms of revenues, the company reported growth of 13.8 percent increasing from Rs 2,159.79 crores in Q4  ended March 2014 to Rs 2,456.85 crore in Q4 of 2014-15. Profit Before Tax (PBT) increased from Rs 71.88 crore in Q4 of 2013-14 to Rs 100.66 crore in Q4 of 2014-15. Profit After Tax (PAT) increased from Rs 52.12 crore in the corresponding period last year to Rs 90.52 crore in the year under review.

Motorcycles sales increased from 197,000 units in Q4 of 2013 -14 to 221,000 units in the fourth quarter of 2014-15. Scooter sales increased from 137,000 units in Q4 of 2013-14 to 166,000 units in the fourth quarter of 2014-15.

Two-wheeler exports grew from 67,000 units in the fourth quarter of 2013-14 to 83,000 units in the quarter under review. Three-wheeler sales increased from 21,294 units in Q4 of the previous year to 26,901 units in the fourth quarter of 2014-15.

The company’s Indonesian arm, PT TVS Motor Company Indonesia recorded sales of 23,348 units in 2014-15 compared to 19,191 units in the previous financial year.
