TVS Motor’s profit after tax in Q2 FY2016 up 23%

TVS Motor’s profit after tax in Q2 FY2016 up 23%

TVS Motor Company has announced a revenue growth of 8% for the quarter ended September 2015 (Q2 FY2016) with total revenue growing from Rs 2,667 crore in the quarter ended September 2014 to Rs 2,881 crore in the quarter ended September 2015.

Profit before tax during Q2 grew by 23% from Rs 131 crore while profit after tax grew also by 23%. PAT increased from Rs 95 crore reported in Q2/2014 to Rs 116 crore in Q2/2015.

Total two-wheeler sales for Q2 stood at 646,000 units against 648,000 units in Q2 2014. Scooter sales grew by 12%, increasing from 195,000 units recorded in Q2/2014 to 218,000 units in Q2 2015.  Motorcycle sales, at 255,000 units, were the same as in Q2 2014.

Two- and three-wheeler exports saw a growth of 23% with sales increasing from 103,000 units to 127,000 units in the quarter ended September 2015.

Half-year results
In the half year ended September 2015, PBT grew by 20% increasing from Rs 232 crore to Rs 279 crore. PAT grew by 24%, from Rs 167 crore to Rs 207 crore.

Total two-wheeler sales for April-September 2015 grew from 12.07 lakh units to 12.54 lakh units. Scooter sales grew by 10%, increasing from 347,000 units to 383,000 units. Sales of motorcycles rose from 482,000 units to 510,000 units in H1 FY2016. Two- and three-wheeler exports registered a growth of 22% with sales increasing from 201,000 units in the half-year ended September 2014 to 246,000 units in the half year ended September 2015.

Three-wheeler sales for the half-year ended September 2015 grew by 19%, increasing from 52,928 units in the half-year ended September 2014 to 63,151 units in the half-year ended September 2015.
