JLR global sales up 35 percent, Evoque leads the charge

JLR global sales up 35 percent, Evoque leads the charge
Mumbai, November 13, 2013: Jaguar Land Rover sales continue in the fast lane as the UK-based player retailed 34,101 vehicles in October 2013, up 35 percent on last October’s sales. During the first ten months of 2013, Jaguar Land Rover sold 346,935 vehicles, up 18 percent.

The growth was due to increased sales in all major regions: the China Region up 56 percent, North America up 51 percent, Asia Pacific up 41 percent, the UK up 20 percent, Europe up 12 percent, and other overseas markets up 47 percent.

Sales for January-October were also up in all major regions with Asia Pacific up 30 percent, the China Region up 27 percent, North America up 20percent, the UK up 15percent, Europe up 6percent and other overseas markets up 21percent.

Andy Goss, JLR’s Group Sales Operations Director, said: “ Jaguar's 2014 Model Year introductions, the new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport and enhanced engine offerings are collectively driving sales growth in all of our major regions."

Brand-wise, Jaguar sold 5,750 vehicles, up 91 percent and reflecting particularly strong demand for the XJ and all XF derivatives, up 95 percent and 73 percent respectively. Calendar year to date, Jaguar sold 63,410 vehicles up 41 percent with increases in each major region: the China Region up 139percent, North America up 39 percent, Asia Pacific up 27 percent, the UK up 19 percent, Europe up 18 percent and other overseas markets up 33 percent.

Land Rover sold 28,351 vehicles, up 28 percent with strong performances from all models in the range: Defender up 18 percent, Freelander up 14 percent and Range Rover Evoque up 23 percent.

The brand demonstrated growth in all major regions: North America up 37percent, Asia Pacific up 35percent, China Region up 31percent, the UK up 21percent, Europe up 11percent and other overseas markets up 44percent.

Calendar year to date, Land Rover has sold 283,525 vehicles up 14 percent with increases in all major regions: Asia Pacific up 31percent, North America, the UK and the China Region all up 14 percent, Europe up 4 percent and other overseas markets up 20 percent.
