Italian supercar manufacturer Ferrari has made its much awaited comeback into the Indian market with its entire model range. The prancing horse is all set to tap the growing Indian supercar market with a new set of dealers and better aftersales services than last time, it claims.

Showcased at the launch event today in Mumbai was the Ferrari California T which, priced at Rs 3.45 crore (ex-showroom), is the most affordable Ferrari in the India line-up.

The California T is Ferrari’s front-engined GT model and is powered by a 552bhp 3.9-litre bi-turbo V8 engine. Ferrari will be operating out of two dealerships for now, one in Mumbai and one in Delhi.

In Mumbai, the Italian supercar brand will be retailed by Navnit Motors, while in Delhi the brand will be retailed by Select Cars. These outlets will extend aftersales services to existing Ferrari owners.

Also part of the model line-up is the range-topping F12 Berlinetta at Rs 4.87 crore and models such as the new 488 GTB, the 458 Spider, the 458 Speciale and the four-seater FF.

The carmaker has received good initial response upon its re-launch and has already delivered two models so far.

Ferrari has sold around 45-50 cars since its first stint that began in India in 2011 with the Shreyans Group. The luxury carmaker received a lot of flak due to the inefficiencies of the Shreyans Group and had to terminate its contract in 2014, which led to a halt on its Indian operations.

Now with new dealers and promises of comprehensive aftersales service, Ferrari is looking to re-capture the fancy of Indian buyers.

Speaking at the launch event Aurelien Sauvard, sales coordinator, Ferrari Middle East and Africa, said that the luxury carmaker is looking to sell 15-20 cars in India by the end of this year.

“All us luxury car manufacturers were a little disappointed from the Indian market because it has not grown as we had expected 5 to 10 years ago. The infrastructure in the country needs to improve, but we are quite optimistic and with our new partners we are looking forward for good sales,” he added.

Sauvard also said that in the future all Ferrari products will be available in Indian as and when they are launched globally.

Speaking about the company’s global launch plans, he said that Ferrari is planning to launch another new model in December.

Here are the prices of various models in Ferrari’s India line up. The prices detailed below are base asking rates; the final amount is likely to vary depending on accessories and options chosen.
