Venu Srinivasan made honorary citizen of Busan

The mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, Suh Byung-soo conferred on Venu Srinivasan, Chairman, TVS Motor Company and Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, the title of honorary citizen.

The Mayor of Busan Metropolitan City, Suh Byung-soo has conferred on Venu Srinivasan, chairman, TVS Motor Company and Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, the title of honorary citizen.

Busan is South Korea’s second largest city after Seoul and this singular award is one of the highest of its kind to be awarded to a foreign national. Srinivasan is the first Indian industrialist to be granted this honorary citizenship.

During the honorary citizenship ceremony, the Mayor expressed hope that the honorary citizenship will further strengthen cultural exchanges and economic partnership with India. Srinivasan who is  a three day visit to Busan met with local businessmen and also attended the Busan International Art Fair in BEXCO.

This is yet another honour to be bestowed on him in appreciation of his relentless efforts and dedication to enhance the friendship and cooperation between  Korea and India as Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai.
