Suzuki to showcase Ignis and Baleno among others at Tokyo Motor Show
Other highlights will include technology exhibits such as cutaway models of newly developed engines.
Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced its exhibits for the 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 (organized by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association), which will be open to the public from 30 October to 8 November. The theme for Suzuki’s booth is “Suzuki Next 100”.
A range of concept models including the Ignis and the Mighty Deck, will be showcased. The Ignis is compact crossover with a simple, highly practical interior design. The model has a high eye point and plenty of road clearance designed for day-to-day convenience. Also on show will be the Ignis – Trail Concept, which shall feature big-diameter wheels and bold wheel-arch mouldings among other changes.
The Concept Mighty Deck is fun-oriented mini-car with a canvas top and an open load deck that can be repositioned for diverse purposes.
Suzuki will also be highlighting the India-bound Baleno, earlier codenamed as YRA. The Baleno is an all-new B-segment hatchback from Suzuki with powertrain technologies including the newly developed 1.0-litre direct-injection, turbocharged Boosterjet engine and the 1.2-litre Dualjet engine.
The concept motorcycles will include the Hustler Scoot, a scooter a concept model of a rider-friendly 50cc scooter with luggage space for diverse purposes.
The Japanese automaker’s other production model includes the new Escudo SUV (called the new Vitara in markets outside Japan), which the company plans to launch on October 15th. The new model is based on packaging that allows distinctive styling and great rough-road performance.
