JSW MG Motor India is preparing for its next phase of growth, led by new product introductions, increased localization, and expanded manufacturing capability. In this interview with Autocar India, Managing Director Anurag Mehrotra discusses the strategic direction of the company following the JSW partnership, and how MG plans to strengthen its position in both the ICE and EV segments.

Central to this push is the upcoming Majestor, which will expand MG’s presence in the premium SUV space. Mehrotra also confirms that the company intends to introduce three to four new models, as it works to build a broader and more competitive portfolio in India.

Localization remains a key priority, with MG significantly increasing local sourcing across its EV lineup and expanding its supplier base. Investments are also being directed towards expanding the Halol facility, underlining MG’s intent to scale manufacturing and improve cost competitiveness.

The conversation also touches upon the evolving structure of the JSW-MG partnership, the potential for a multi-brand approach, and MG’s outlook on growth in India’s rapidly evolving automotive market.
