Skoda Auto India is poised for a transformative phase, blending its legacy of classic car designs with the rising dominance of SUVs and EVs in the Indian market.

In an exclusive conversation with Autocar Professional at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Skoda India said that with SUVs leading the market surge and competitors launching electric SUVs, Skoda is adapting while staying true to its design philosophy.

"We value classical car shapes," Janeba said, but acknowledged the shift by announcing Skoda’s first electric SUV in India, set for a September 2025 launch. The Czech carmaker's first EV launch is expected to be the Enyaq that made its India debut at the Bharat Mobility exposition last year.
