'NRB's real differentiator is its people': Harshbeena Zaveri

Mumbai-headquartered Tier-1 bearings major NRB Bearings, which is an end-to-end friction solutions provider by virtue of its in-house design, development, and manufacturing capabilities, values openness and a zeal to learn as key traits in the talent it recruits.

According to Harshbeena Zaveri, Vice Chairman and MD, NRB Bearings, "We are a very inclusive and unstratified company, which is extremely diverse and non-heirarchial. We are more interested in recruiting people who love failing and not repeating the mistake."

The company is a key supplier to top Indian and global automotive OEMs and other Tier-1 component manufacturers, and as per Zaveri, what differentiate NRB's workforce is that its people do not believe that they are secondary to anyone. "One could be innovative and disruptive, but that company must have a culture as well as a backbone of people discussing, brainstorming together and disagreeing. That forms the basis of innovation," she adds in this video.

"Competency is oversold and people typically use it to gain control and negotiate. For us, the non-negotiable is having zero ego, and a zeal to learn," Zaveri points out.
