Renault India, which has outlined a plan to introduce five new models, including a B- and C-SUV, as well as an EV by CY27, is also exploring the option of rolling out alternative fuels such as CNG.

The company offers a range of value-for-money cars like entry-level Kwid hatcbhack, Kiger entry-level SUV, and Triber 7-seat MPV, that are high on technology, and come at affordable prices. However, given the tightening regulations pertaining to safety and emissions, Renault India believes there is an impact, particularly in the entry-level segment.

Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations talks about how the company's procurement and engineering teams are innovating to minimise the cost impact, and update the carmaker's model line-up in India with new technologial additions.

Mamillapalle also adds that the company is working on alternative fuel technologies such as CNG, and flex-fuel vehicles, even as it readies its first EV for the Indian market that will be introduced in the next three years.
