Leading Tier-1 bearings manufacturer, NBC Bearings, is bullish about the growth potential of EVs in the Indian market as well as overseas, and is developing a range of EV-specific bearings that offer optimal performance and low noise.
While the company is already supplying EV-specific bearings to an Indian e-3W OEM, it remains steadfast on continuous innovation. According to Dr Lokesh Agrawal, CTO, NBC Bearings, "EVs demand highly efficient and long-service life bearings. We are developing and introducing new-age EV bearings and are already supplying sensor-equipped bearings to an e-3W OEM."
As per Dr Agrawal, the sensors tap into the various parameters, such as the rotational direction and temperature, and help optimise the operating condition to aid a higher range of an EV. He explains that the load-sensing bearing technology is likely to find application in both PVs and CVs.
"While most technological innovations in our products are taking place in India, we have also opened a global technology centre in Germany for tapping into overseas market requirements," Dr Agrawal points out in this video.
