In Conversation with Autodesk's Detlev Reicheneder

As electrification levels the playing field for newcomers and existing automotive players, a razor-sharp focus on technology and R&D to bring innovative products is the mantra for startups to succeed, says Detlev Reicheneder, Senior Director, Business Strategy Design and Manufacturing, Autodesk.

In his recent visit to India, Reicheneder visited startups leveraging design tools that utilise the power of AI and enable companies to eliminate mundane tasks, and help designers explore multiple design options simultaneously, therefore, allowing a quicker time to market. Reicheneder said that by collaborating effectively, and leveraging technology such as AI, startups can be agile, and flexible in a space of cut-throat competition. 
 
He further revealed that the big opportunity for startups in the mobility ecosystem lies in the product, which is emerging as the focal point of innovation for new market entrants, which are also carving their space by virtue of unique business models. Reicheneder also shared his optimism about India's potential to become a global hub for manufacturing and innovation by adopting technology and undergoing a digital transformation.
