While women presence in manufacturing plants was less than 1% until a decade ago, today, EV units are setting new benchmarks with some facilities even operating women-only workforces.

Once a male-dominated sector, India's automotive industry is undergoing a significant transformation — and women are at the forefront of this change. Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing is emerging as a key driver of this shift and hiring trends reveal a growing preference for women in EV manufacturing roles.

In this interview, Subburathinam P, Chief Operating Officer - Staffing, TeamLease Services, said, "Over the last two decades, the diversity ratio has seen notable improvement. Industry 4.0, marked by increased robotics and automation is playing a key role in creating new opportunities for women on the shop floor."
