At the core of Cummins’ strategy is its HELM philosophy—High Efficiency, Low Emissions Multi-Propulsion—ensuring that even traditional diesel platforms, which boast high localisation levels, remain relevant in a greener future. But the long -term game is clear: Net Zero by 2050. Hence, Cummins is actively investing in hydrogen, battery, and fuel cell technologies. But Jirafe acknowledges that mainstreaming hydrogen-ICE (internal combustion engines) will take time. "Government support will be critical, especially to make EV and hydrogen tech affordable for Indian customers," he says.
