ZF Secures Multi-Million Euro Test System Orders
Company enters Indian powertrain and mobility market with 440KW differential unit test bench and tire testing systems.
ZF Group has secured three large test system orders for powertrain and tire manufacturing applications in India, marking the company's official entry into the Indian powertrain and next-generation mobility market. The orders, worth multiple million euros, were announced on August 7, 2025, and will serve customers with pan-India presence in the automotive segment.
The orders comprise India's first 440KW transmission test bench, several tire R&D test benches for a leading tire manufacturer, and three end-of-line test benches for passenger car tires for another Indian manufacturer.
The transmission test bench features a 3E dyno configuration designed without intermediate gearbox to reduce energy losses. The system includes direct shaft connection to the Device Under Test, eliminating the need for intermediate gearboxes or chain systems. A movable dyno system provides horizontal adjustments for enhanced flexibility to accommodate various types of equipment under test.
The tire testing equipment includes rolling resistance testers and endurance and high-speed testers for passenger car and two-wheeler applications in various configurations. The end-of-line test benches are automated testing systems used at the end of production lines to ensure product quality before tires leave the factory.
"This is a proud moment for ZF as we bring our advanced testing technology to India. These orders not just set a new benchmark in the segment but serve as a reference point for future projects in the region. These orders reinforce our commitment to innovation and excellence in engineering in automotive and industrial segments," said Akash Passey, President, ZF Group India.
The orders strengthen ZF's presence in India while supporting the country's vision for safer and sustainable mobility solutions. ZF introduces a new portfolio of mid-size and large-size powertrain benches, tire R&D testing machines and low speed uniformity and balancing test systems tailored for the Indian market.
ZF operates 19 manufacturing facilities and 10 engineering centers in India with over 16,000 employees. The company reported sales revenues of €1.1 billion in India across all segments. Globally, ZF reported sales of €41.4 billion in fiscal 2024 with 161,600 employees worldwide.
