ZF Friedrichshafen AG announced significant changes to its leadership structure on October 23, 2025, with the Supervisory Board appointing Andreas Moser to the Board of Management. Moser, who previously headed the company's Industrial Technology division, will oversee the Commercial Vehicle Solutions and Industrial Technology divisions, as well as the India Region, beginning November 1, 2025.
The appointment comes as ZF reduces its Board of Management from six to five members, a move the company describes as aimed at improving efficiency and focus. Dr. Rolf Breidenbach, Chairman of the ZF Supervisory Board, stated that the changes were designed to create clarity in the group's management structure during a period of organizational challenges.
Moser brings extensive experience to his new role, having worked at ZF since 1992. The 62-year-old executive has held various management and sales positions within the Commercial Vehicle Solutions division before being appointed as its head in 2020. He later moved to Passau in April 2021 to lead the Industrial Technology division.
In a related personnel decision, Sebastian Schmitt has been named head of the Electrified Powertrain Technology division, which consolidates ZF's conventional, hybrid, and electric passenger-car drivetrain technologies.
Schmitt, who currently leads the Electrified Powertrain Systems product line, will report directly to CEO Mathias Miedreich. Miedreich will continue to hold overall responsibility for the division on the Board of Management.
As part of the restructuring, ZF is establishing a Transformation Committee to serve as a central governing body linking key business areas including sales, materials management, production, and strategy with the Board of Management. This committee will manage the company's group-wide performance program.
Miedreich emphasized that the company's focus in coming years will be on strengthening operations, increasing profitability, and expanding financial stability. The new structure is intended to provide what the CEO described as speed, clarity, and impact in supporting customers through technology and partnerships.
ZF is a global technology company that supplies mobility products and systems for passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and industrial applications. The company employed approximately 161,600 people worldwide and reported sales of €41.4 billion in fiscal 2024. It operates 161 production locations across 30 countries.
