ZF Aftermarket has expanded its TRW brake pad coverage to approximately 90% of India's vehicle market, following the addition of 50 new part numbers in 2024. The company announced the development at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi, where it also showcased its TRUE Originals Brake Pads series.

The coverage increase builds on the company's 2023 portfolio, which served 80% of Indian vehicles with 56 part numbers. With more than 250 active distributor codes across India, the expansion aims to improve parts accessibility for customers across the country.

Akash Passey, President of ZF India, emphasized the company's focus on the Indian market, noting that the aftermarket expansion complements their existing OEM segment operations. Vijay Khorgade, Head of Business Line Pass Car for India, MEA and CIS, confirmed that ZF Aftermarket has introduced 109 part numbers under the TRW brand over the past two years, covering both brake pads and brake discs.

ZF Group, a global automotive supplier headquartered in Friedrichshafen, Germany, has maintained a significant presence in India's automotive sector. The company's aftermarket division specializes in providing replacement parts and services for various vehicle manufacturers. The TRW brand, which ZF acquired in 2015, has been a key player in the automotive safety systems market, particularly known for its brake components.

The expansion comes at a time when India's automotive aftermarket sector is experiencing steady growth, driven by increasing vehicle ownership and an aging vehicle fleet requiring replacement parts. Industry analysts estimate the Indian automotive aftermarket to be worth several billion dollars, with steady annual growth projected through 2025.
