ZETWERK secures ARAI certification for Made in India 60kW and 120kW DC fast chargers

ZETWERK, a leading marketplace for contract manufacturing, has reached a significant milestone in the electric vehicle (EV) sector with the approval of its 60kW and 120kW DC fast chargers by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).

This certification aligns with ZETWERK's commitment to enhancing the EV infrastructure in India under the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

The ARAI, a premier research institution under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, granted this approval after conducting comprehensive testing of ZETWERK's DC fast chargers. The chargers have been designed to meet high standards of safety, environmental compliance, and performance, ensuring reliable and efficient charging solutions nationwide.

ZETWERK has already secured contracts to supply these chargers to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) and other private charge point operators, which will contribute to the expansion of fast-charging stations across the country.

"Securing ARAI certification is a significant achievement for us, reaffirming our commitment to product quality, safety, and reliability. This certification supports the ‘Make in India’ initiative and our role in promoting electric vehicle adoption with domestically produced chargers," said Srinath Ramakkrushnan, Co-founder and COO of ZETWERK.

The company plans to launch several new products this financial year and is currently engaged in research and development to expand its product offerings. This includes work on next-generation Super DC Chargers with capacities of 240kW and 360kW, designed for faster charging times for commercial and public EV charging stations.

"This ARAI certification is a crucial step in our journey to enhance the EV charging infrastructure in India," said Abhay Adya, Business Head of the Energy Transition Business at Zetwerk. "Our DC fast chargers aim to impact the EV ecosystem by ensuring quick and reliable charging solutions. By collaborating with partners like IOCL, we are working to build a sustainable EV infrastructure that supports the growth of electric mobility in India."

The partnership with IOCL, announced earlier this year, is part of Zetwerk's commitment to India’s transition to cleaner energy. Zetwerk will deploy over 1,400 EV fast chargers across the country, ranging from 50kW to 120kW, featuring advanced DC Dual Gun CCS2 DC Charger technology.

As India moves towards electrification, reliable charging infrastructure remains a priority. Zetwerk's certified DC fast chargers add to the country’s EV ecosystem, supporting both private and commercial vehicle charging. With ongoing R&D and strategic partnerships, Zetwerk is positioned to contribute to the transformation of India's EV infrastructure.
