Zelio E-mobility Opens Cuttack Plant To Expand Eastern India Presence

Zelio E-Mobility has announced the commissioning of a new manufacturing facility in Cuttack, Odisha, as part of its strategy to strengthen its presence in eastern India. The facility is expected to support rising demand in Odisha and West Bengal, while improving delivery timelines and reducing logistics costs through regionally located production.

The addition of the Odisha plant has increased the company’s total installed production capacity from 72,000 units per annum to 1,80,000 units per annum. The existing facility in Hisar, Haryana, has also undergone process-level optimisation, raising its capacity to 1,20,000 units per annum, while the new Cuttack unit adds another 60,000 units annually.

The company stated that the new plant will focus exclusively on electric two-wheeler production and will support faster deliveries, improved supply efficiency, and better inventory management across eastern and southern India. The facility, set up with an investment of under ₹3 crore, is operational and is expected to begin contributing to revenue immediately. It is also projected to generate employment for around 60 to 100 local workers across production and operations.

Zelio E-Mobility indicated that discussions are ongoing regarding the final layout, machinery configuration, and integration of eco-friendly systems at the plant. Engagements with the Odisha government on potential incentives and support mechanisms are also in progress.

The expansion follows the company’s reported H1 FY26 performance, which included consolidated revenue of ₹134.78 crore and net profit of ₹11.87 crore. The company has also completed an SME IPO earlier in the year, with a portion of the proceeds allocated for capacity expansion and new facilities, including the Odisha plant.
