Yudo India Doubles Hot Runner Production Capacity With New Vasai Manufacturing Facility
The new 40,000 sq ft facility in Vasai increases Yudo India's monthly hot runner production capacity to nearly 400 systems and adds R&D and manufacturing capabilities under one roof.
Yudo Hot Runner India has commissioned a new 40,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Vasai, Maharashtra, more than doubling its domestic production capacity for hot runner systems to nearly 400 units per month from around 180–190 previously.
The new plant is dedicated to the production of hot runner systems used in plastic injection moulding and integrates design, research and development, simulation, manufacturing, assembly and testing at a single location. The company said the facility also becomes one of Yudo's nine global R&D centres and forms part of its network of 24 manufacturing plants across more than 45 countries.
Hot runner systems are used across industries, including automotive, packaging, medical and PVC. According to the company, the automotive sector is its largest domestic market. The expansion is intended to increase local manufacturing capacity and reduce delivery timelines by serving a larger share of domestic demand from within India.
The facility currently employs around 100 people, with plans to increase the workforce to 125 over the next six months. Yudo also plans to increase female participation on the shopfloor through training programmes for CNC operations during day shifts.
The plant incorporates rooftop solar panels, rainwater harvesting, daylighting systems and heat-resistant building materials aimed at reducing energy consumption and lowering its environmental footprint.
"With growing demand, shorter delivery timelines, and higher service expectations, it was essential to scale up our manufacturing capacity. This facility strengthens our ability to serve the domestic market while reinforcing India's role in Yudo's global network," said Vishal Agarwal, President, Yudo Hot Runner India Pvt. Ltd.
