Xiaomi showcases SU7 electric sedan in India
The SU7 offers up to 830km range (CLTC). The range-topping variant puts out 673hp and 838 Nm peak torque, boasting an astounding 0-100kph time of just 2.78 seconds.
Chinese consumer electronics maker Xiaomi has showcased its SU7 electric sedan in India. The EV made its global debut in December last year, and has now been revealed in our country as a part of Xiaomi's 10th anniversary celebrations.
The styling of the SU7 sedan was developed in-house under the leadership of Xiaomi’s head of design, Sawyer Li who helped design cars like the BMW iX and Circular Vision Concept, during a five-year stint at the German carmaker. The SU7 measures 4,997mm in length, 1,963mm in width and stands 1,440mm tall.
The SU7's sleek lines contribute to a claimed drag co-efficient of just 0.195, making it one of the most aerodynamically efficient production cars yet.
The four-door sedan bears a resemblance to the Porsche Taycan as well as the BYD Seal. The aerodynamic shape and sleek lines contribute to a claimed drag coefficient of just 0.195. On the inside, the SU7 gets a minimalistic layout with a large touchscreen taking the centre stage, a digital driver’s display, a large head-up display, and a panoramic glass roof.

The SU7 is available in China with three battery packs: a 73.6kWh unit with up to 700km range and rear-wheel drive, a 94.3 kWh unit with up to 830km range, also with RWD, and a 101kWh battery powering the two electric motors on the SU7 Max trim with all-wheel drive, offering a range of 800km as per the Chinese light-duty vehicle test cycle (CLTC).
The range-topping variant puts out 673hp and 838Nm peak torque, boasting an astounding 0-100kph time of just 2.78 seconds. Both the RWD trims produce 299hp and 400Nm torque. The top-spec SU7 Max has a top speed of 265kph.
As of now, the company has revealed no plans of launching the electric sedan in India. Prices for the Xiaomi SU7 start from ¥215,900 (Rs 24.79 lakh) for the entry-level variant, ¥245,900 (Rs 28.23 lakh) for mid-level SU7 Pro and ¥299,900 (Rs 34.42 lakh) onwards for the range-topper.
