Westcoast Kia Opens Largest, Greenest Facility as Kia Crosses 500 Workshops
Ahmedabad-based dealer inaugurates 76,000 sq ft, 57-bay workshop as Kia India scales aftersales reach across 391 cities.
Kia India has crossed 500 service workshops in the country, marking a key milestone in its aftersales expansion, even as dealer partner Westcoast Kia inaugurated one of the largest and among the greenest facilities in the network.
Located in Motera, Ahmedabad, the new workshop spans 76,069 sq ft, including a 41,640 sq ft covered area, and is equipped with 57 service bays, enabling high throughput and faster turnaround times. The facility also integrates a dedicated ‘Kia Shine’ zone for vehicle care and is designed to handle multiple vehicles simultaneously with streamlined service processes.
A key highlight is its sustainability focus. The workshop is powered by a 145 kW solar installation, and features rainwater harvesting and an in-house sewage treatment plant, positioning it among the greenest facilities in Kia India’s service network.
Westcoast Kia has built scale in the Ahmedabad market, retailing over 5,000 cars annually across a network comprising six sales outlets, seven service facilities and one certified pre-owned outlet, taking its total footprint to 13 touchpoints in the region.
The 500-workshop milestone is part of Kia’s broader push to strengthen aftersales accessibility, with over 800 service touchpoints now spread across 391 cities. Kia India MD and CEO Gwanggu Lee described the development as “500 points of reassurance” for customers, emphasising the company’s focus on service reliability and long-term ownership experience.
The company has also been integrating digital tools such as RFID-based systems and connected platforms to enable real-time updates, contactless service and greater transparency for customers.
Baljeet Bagga, owner principal of Westcoast Kia, highlighted the brand’s rapid scale-up in India, noting that Kia remains the only relatively new entrant in the past 25 years to cross monthly sales of over 10,000 units, with volumes now exceeding 25,000 units. He termed the achievement significant in a market where most high-volume players have been present for over two decades.
The network expansion comes alongside strong growth momentum. Kia reported a 15 percent increase in wholesale volumes to 280,286 units in 2025, up from 245,000 units in 2024, while December 2025 volumes more than doubled year-on-year to 18,659 units from 8,957 units in December 2024.
With dealer-led investments such as the Westcoast facility and a continued push on service quality and sustainability, Kia India is positioning aftersales as a key differentiator in an increasingly competitive passenger vehicle market.
