Waaree Energies begins trial production at India’s largest solar cell facility
The 5.4 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in Chikhli, Gujarat, aims to reduce import dependency, support domestic and global demand, and advance India’s renewable energy goals through innovation, sustainability, and backward supply chain integration.
Waaree Energies Ltd., a leading solar PV module manufacturer in India, has started trial production at its 5.4 GW solar cell manufacturing facility in Chikhli, Gujarat. This facility, the largest of its kind in India, represents a step forward in the country’s efforts to strengthen renewable energy manufacturing capabilities.
The Chikhli facility is designed to support Waaree's strategy of backward integration in the solar energy sector. He also emphasized the company's commitment to research-driven innovation, which not only supports technological advancements but also contributes to economic growth through job creation and sustainability initiatives.
The establishment of the Chikhli facility involved significant investment in research and development to ensure advanced manufacturing capabilities. Waaree has focused on driving innovation within its operations, aiming to set new standards in solar technology. The facility integrates modern technology with sustainable practices, reflecting Waaree's objective to support India's renewable energy goals while contributing to global energy self-sufficiency.
