Volkswagen India announced a strategic collaboration with cricket fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah on July 9, 2025, to launch the Golf GTI campaign, aligning the cricketer's precision and consistency with the German automaker's performance-driven characteristics.
The collaboration is designed for Volkswagen's 'Progressive Performance' positioning, celebrating engineering excellence and intuitive engagement as the Golf GTI enters the Indian market. The company describes the association as a creative alignment bringing together precision engineering and athletic accuracy.
The Golf GTI is globally recognized for its precision, German engineering and progressive DNA that reflects strong performance-driven characteristics.The campaign narrative focuses on substance, character building, and trust resonance with the target audience, according to the company's announcement.
"This collaboration goes beyond performance; it's a statement of intent that aligns with our motorsport DNA. We have crafted a narrative that is rooted in substance, one that reflects character, builds trust, and resonates deeply with our audience," said Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen India.

Volkswagen India currently offers four models in the Indian market: Taigun, Virtus, Tiguan R-Line and Golf GTI. The brand operates in more than 150 countries worldwide and is focusing on e-mobility, smart mobility and digital transformation as key strategic topics for the future.
The company unveiled its first e-mobility offering ID.3 for the European market in 2019, based on Volkswagen's MEB platform. The collaboration includes a promotional film featuring both Bumrah and the Golf GTI.
