VinFast's V-Green and ChargeZone Launch Co-branded Charging Network in India

The partnership marks the first co-branded EV charging tie-up for VinFast in India, with 15 stations operational and 100 more planned within six months.

V-Green, the EV charging arm of Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup, has entered a partnership with ChargeZone to deploy a shared charging network for VinFast vehicle owners across India. The first station under the agreement went live on 28 May 2026 in Vadodara, Gujarat, at Mangla Trade Hub, situated adjacent to a VinFast dealership — a location choice that signals the partnership's intent to integrate charging access directly into the vehicle purchase and ownership experience.

The Vadodara station is equipped with a 60 kW DC fast charger carrying dual-gun capability, which allows two vehicles to charge simultaneously. While the inaugural station serves as a symbolic launch point, the rollout is already underway at scale: a total of 15 co-branded stations across the country have been commissioned and are operational as of the announcement date.

Under the terms of the agreement, ChargeZone will own and manage the end-to-end operation of all stations in the network — covering installation, maintenance, and customer-facing services. V-Green's role is focused on site identification and deployment planning, effectively contributing network strategy while leaving day-to-day operations to its Indian partner. The division of responsibility is notable in that it allows VinFast's charging footprint to scale without V-Green building independent operational capacity in a new market.

The two companies plan to commission approximately 100 additional co-branded stations over the next six months. No specific cities or corridors have been named, but the stated aim is to extend coverage to key locations across the country, suggesting a mix of metro and highway deployments.

ChargeZone, headquartered in Vadodara, operates more than 15,000 charging points across 1,200-plus locations in India and the UAE. The company describes itself as a vertically integrated operator, handling hardware engineering, software platforms, and network management internally. Its existing footprint covers enterprise clients — including fleet operators and commercial properties — as well as public retail charging points.

V-Green sits within the broader Vingroup conglomerate alongside VinFast, which manufactures electric cars, and GSM, a ride-hailing and electric mobility platform. V-Green currently manages approximately 150,000 charging ports in Vietnam and has extended its operations to Indonesia and the Philippines. The India partnership is the company's first formal co-branded arrangement with a Charge Point Operator in the country, and comes as VinFast continues its push into the Indian passenger vehicle market, where it competes with both domestic manufacturers and established international brands.

The structure of this deal — a foreign EV maker partnering with a domestic charging network operator rather than building proprietary infrastructure — is consistent with approaches taken by other automakers entering the Indian market. Building a charging network from scratch requires significant capital, regulatory navigation, and local operational knowledge. Partnering with an established CPO compresses that timeline and reduces upfront investment, though it also means the manufacturer has limited control over the charging experience.

India's public EV charging infrastructure has expanded in recent years, supported by government programmes such as the PM E-DRIVE scheme and state-level incentives. However, the network remains uneven in geographic coverage, with density concentrated in larger cities and along select national highways. For EV brands targeting buyers beyond the top urban centres, the availability and reliability of charging outside those corridors continues to be a relevant factor in purchase consideration.
