VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 Receive 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

The electric SUVs assembled in Tamil Nadu scored well in crash tests, meeting India's safety standards in both adult and child occupant protection categories.

VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 Receive 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating

VinFast's VF 6 and VF 7 electric SUVs have received 5-star safety certifications from Bharat NCAP, India's vehicle safety assessment program.The VF 6 scored 27.13 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection and 44.41 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection. The VF 7 achieved 28.54 out of 32 points in Adult Occupant Protection and 45.25 out of 49 points in Child Occupant Protection.

In frontal impact tests, both models received the maximum score of 4.000 points for head, neck, and upper leg protection for drivers and passengers. The vehicles also achieved full marks in side impact tests, scoring 16.000 out of 16.000 for adult occupants and 8.000 out of 8.000 for child occupants.

During pole side impact testing, the VF 6 and VF 7 recorded head injury assessment values of 109 and 131 respectively, below the critical threshold of 700 set by Bharat NCAP.

Bharat NCAP is operated by the Government of India and follows international safety assessment practices similar to Global NCAP. The program evaluates vehicles through crash tests and awards ratings from 3 to 5 stars.

VinFast has received safety recognition in other markets as well. The VF 8 model received a 5-star ASEAN NCAP rating and won five out of six safety awards from that organization in 2024.

Tapan Ghosh, CEO of VinFast India, said the ratings represent a milestone for the company in India's automotive market. He stated that VinFast remains focused on producing electric vehicles that meet safety requirements while being environmentally conscious and technologically equipped.

Both models are assembled at VinFast's manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The vehicles come with seven airbags and offer various Advanced Driver Assistance Systems features depending on the variant, including Auto Lane Changing Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Front and Rear Automatic Emergency Brake, and Blind Spot Detection.

The VF 6 and VF 7 are part of VinFast's operations in India, which include local manufacturing, retail locations, charging infrastructure, and service centers.

VinFast is a subsidiary of Vingroup JSC, a Vietnamese conglomerate. The company manufactures electric SUVs, e-scooters, and e-buses, and is expanding its presence in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
