The 48th International Vienna Motor Symposium will focus on software-defined vehicles, electric powertrains, battery storage, and decentralized power generation for AI data centers using large engines when it convenes from April 21 to 23, 2027, according to an organizer update following the close of paper submissions.
Organized by the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers (ÖVK), the upcoming event at the Hofburg Congress Centre has received technical submissions across the automotive supply chain, including vehicle manufacturers, component suppliers, and academic institutions from India, China and the USA. Organizers confirmed that 80 percent of the technical exhibition space has been booked.
Alongside conventional internal combustion engines and hybrid powertrains, the 2027 agenda incorporates vehicle-to-grid technologies, local energy storage, emissions regulations, and new forms of industry collaboration.
Bernhard Geringer, President of the Austrian Society of Automotive Engineers, said, "We are impressed by the large number of high-quality submissions. We will now review the papers and select the most promising contributions to create an exciting program for 2027."
