Mahindra Bolero, Bolero Neo launched with updates and reduced pricing
Mahindra is gearing up for a busy festive season with not one, but three refreshed SUVs lined up for launch in quick succession. The brand will kick things off with the updated Bolero Neo and the standard Bolero on October 6, followed closely by the facelifted Thar 3-door a few days later.
Bolero Neo facelift
First up is the Bolero Neo, which started life as the TUV300 before being rebranded in 2021. This will be its second facelift, and Mahindra has given it a refreshed face with a new grille featuring horizontal slats, a slightly reprofiled bumper, and subtle tweaks inside the cabin. Higher trims are expected to get new upholstery and additional features, while Mahindra is said to have fine-tuned the suspension for better comfort according to dealers. Under the hood, the proven 1.5-litre three-cylinder diesel engine will continue, paired with a manual gearbox and rear-wheel-drive setup.
Standard Bolero gets a nip and tuck
Alongside the Neo, Mahindra’s workhorse – the standard Bolero – will also see mild updates. While details are limited for now, expect minor cosmetic changes outside and some updates inside to keep it fresh. Having been a staple in Mahindra’s line-up for over two decades, the Bolero continues to be a strong seller, especially in semi-urban and rural markets.
Thar 3-door facelift on the horizon
Soon after the Bolero launch, Mahindra will turn its attention to the Thar 3-door. Since its launch in October 2020, the second-gen Thar has become nothing short of a blockbuster, with over 2.59 lakh units sold so far. Even this fiscal year, the Thar 3-door accounted for over half of the Thar family’s sales, despite the arrival of the larger Thar Roxx. The facelifted version is expected to borrow several updates from its bigger sibling, including a more premium cabin with soft-touch materials and a larger infotainment screen on higher variants. While the exterior updates are under wraps for now, Mahindra will stick to the existing engine line-up – the 1.5-litre diesel, 2.2-litre diesel, and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol.
Apart from these three updates, Mahindra is also lining-up refreshes for the popular XUV700 range which will go on sale early next year.
