Uno Minda Shifts 2W Lighting Production to Kharkhoda, Approves ₹2500 Crore Fundraising Plan

In a significant move to consolidate operations and meet growing demand, Uno Minda Limited has announced the shifting of its 2W lighting manufacturing plants from Bahadurgarh and Sonipat to a new facility in Kharkhoda, Haryana. The decision was approved by the company's Board of Directors during their meeting held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

The new manufacturing facility is designed to meet the continuous increase in demand from OEMs while improving operational efficiency by eliminating the efficiency loss associated with operating three separate plants. The consolidated facility is expected to commence operations from Q4, 2026-27.

In addition to the production shift, the Board approved several other strategic initiatives:

Fundraising Authorization

The Board has recommended seeking shareholder approval to raise funds up to ₹2,500 crores through various securities. The fundraising plan includes issuing foreign currency convertible bonds, convertible instruments/securities, secured or unsecured bonds, non-convertible debentures, and other permissible debt securities through public or private placement, including qualified institutions placement.

The funds will support the company's growth strategy and augment long-term resources to meet funding requirements for business activities and general corporate purposes. The specific terms and conditions of the securities will be determined by the Board or its designated committee, subject to applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 and SEBI regulations.
