Uber Partners with Refex Green Mobility to Deploy 1,000 EVs by 2026

Uber has announced a partnership with Refex Green Mobility to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles (EVs) across key Indian cities by 2026. This initiative is part of Uber’s strategy to expand EV adoption on its platform and align with its global goal of achieving 100% emission-free rides by 2040.

The fleet will be introduced in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai under Refex Green Mobility’s brand, Refex eVeelz. The collaboration aims to address the increasing demand for sustainable mobility in urban areas, the company said in a press release.

Aditya Kapoor, Head of Supply and Electrification at Uber India and South Asia, said the company is focused on accelerating the transition to zero-emission mobility. He stated that partnerships like this will help expand electric ride options across multiple cities.

Sachin Navtosh Jha, Chief of Staff at Refex Group, said that the partnership supports the company’s efforts to promote sustainable mobility. He highlighted that Refex eVeelz already operates nearly 1,300 company-owned four-wheeler EVs in B2B and B2C segments.

As part of its broader EV initiatives, Uber has introduced Uber Green in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. The feature allows passengers to book all-electric, zero tailpipe-emission rides through the app.

Uber, which entered India in 2013, now operates in 125 cities and has facilitated over 3 billion trips. The company aims to support driver-partners while enhancing urban mobility.

Refex Green Mobility is a subsidiary of Refex Industries Limited, part of the Refex Group. Established in 2002, the group has expanded into logistics, renewables, healthcare, and retail sectors.
