TVS Motor is preparing to launch four new models under the British luxury brand Norton Motorcycles in this financial year across the UK, India and key European markets, according to the company's annual report. A flagship 1200cc four-cylinder superbike will be the first product in this lineup.
“Norton Motorcycles will launch towards the end of FY 2025-26 in the UK, India, and key European markets. Four new models will be launched and will be available for the summer of 2026,” TVS Motor Managing Director Sudarshan Venu said in the company’s annual report.
TVS Motor acquired British sporting motorcycle maker Norton Motorcycles in 2020 for approximately Rs 150 crore, aiming to enter global markets, particularly Europe and North America, where demand for high-performance motorcycles is high.
High-performance product offerings will help TVS Motor to diversify its portfolio and improve the company’s profit margins. Autocar Professional had earlier reported that TVS Motor is planning to launch six new products by next year.
“One of the key milestones in our global journey will be the launch of our iconic British brand, Norton, in Q3 FY 2025-26 in the UK, India, and key European markets to further capitalise on the growing demand for premium and desirable mobility brands,” TVS Motor Chairman Ralf Speth said.
Norton currently offers three motorcycle models - Commando 961, V4SV and V4CR. Currently, Norton motorcycles are manufactured at the brand’s facility in Solihull, UK. However, under TVS ownership, future products or select models are expected to be manufactured at TVS’s Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu.
“TVS’ five-year ownership of the iconic British motorcycle maker was marked by the fulfilment of orders from customers of the previous company, with vehicles born out of the re-engineered Commando and V4 platforms,” the company said.
“This marked a significant turning of the page before the 126-year-old brand embarks on a fresh journey, with the launch of six models by 2026, starting with the flagship 1200cc four-cylinder superbike.”
After acquiring Norton, TVS Motor has made substantial investments in the design, development, and production of a diverse range of motorcycles. This strategic effort goes beyond merely restoring Norton's iconic status; it aims to deliver novel and unique offerings for contemporary riders in key markets such as the UK, US, France, Germany, Italy, and India, the company said.
Over the next eight quarters, TVS Motor said it would continue to invest strategically, leveraging its engineering, design, development, and supply chain capabilities to deliver high-quality products efficiently and cost-effectively.
