TVS Motor sales up three percent at 2,75,115 units in January

TVS Motor sales up three percent at 2,75,115 units in January

TVS Motor Company has reported a growth of three percent at 2,75,115 units in January 2023 as compared to 2,66,788 units in the same month a year ago. The company's total two-wheeler sales increased by four percent, from 2,54,139 units in the same month last year to 2,64,710 units last month.

Domestic two-wheelers registered growth of 29 percent, with sales increasing from 1,67,795 units in January 2022 to 2,16,471 units in January 2023.

Sales of motorcycles stood at 1,21,042 units last month as against 1,37,630 units in January 2022. Scooter sales for the company registered a growth of 32 percent, with sales increasing from 80,580 units in the month of January 2022 to 1,06,537 units in the month of January 2023.

The electric scooter TVS iQube recorded its highest ever sales of 12,169 units in January 2023 as against sales of 1,529 units in January 2022. “TVS iQube Electric is now available in more than 100 cities across 200 touchpoints, selling more than 10,000 units for the third consecutive month with a strong order pipeline,” the company said.

The company's total exports registered sales of 57,024 units during the month under review as against 97,858 units in January 2022. Two-wheeler exports registered sales of 48,239 units in January 2023 as against 86,344 units in January 2022. “Given the macro-economic uncertainties in a few international markets, the company has reduced stock to enable the channel partners. Customer retails continue to outnumber dispatches. With reduced distributor stocks and improved retails, the company is optimistic of improving dispatches in the forthcoming months,” the company added.

The company's three-wheeler sold 10,405 units in January 2023, compared to 12,649 units in January 2022.
