Lanxess India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hindustan Colas (HINCOL) to evaluate technical and commercial opportunities in bitumen and asphalt modification technologies for the Indian market.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will carry out joint laboratory and commercial evaluations of Addipave CR 36, developed by Lanxess for Polymer Modified Bitumen (PMB) applications. Lanxess will supply the product, technical expertise, and trial support, while HINCOL will provide testing facilities, operational support, and local performance assessments.

The partnership will also cover the evaluation and market promotion of Addipave WM 23, an additive technology designed for warm mix asphalt. Through joint field trials, the companies intend to lower asphalt production and paving temperatures while maintaining standard road performance specifications.

"With HINCOL’s local market insight, we aim to expand our footprint in India for asphalt application tailored to the requirements of the local market," said Vince Patram, Global Head of Marketing, Business Unit Lubricant Additives at Lanxess.
