TVS Motor sales drops 4% at 242,012 units in December

Total two-wheelers sales declined at 3.3 percent to 227,666 units last month, as against sales of 235,392 units in December 2021.

TVS Motor sales drops 4% at 242,012 units in December

TVS Motor Company on Monday reported a 3.58 percent drop in total sales at 242,012 units in December. The company had posted total sales of 250,993 units in the same month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.
       
Total two-wheelers sales declined at 3.3 percent to 227,666 units last month, as against sales of 235,392 units in December 2021, it added. However, domestic two-wheeler sales registered growth of 10 percent at 161,369 units last month as against 146,763 units in December 2021.
       
During the month under review, motorcycle sales slipped to 124,705 units as compared to 133,700 units in December 2021. Scooter registered growth of 14 percent with sales increasing from 67,533 units in December 2021 to 76,766 units in December 2022.  
       
During October to December quarter, the Chennai-based company sold 8.4 lakh two-wheelers as against 8.3 lakh units in the same quarter year ago. Three-wheeler sales dipped to 0.43 lakh units as against 0.44 lakh units in the third quarter of FY 21-22. Total exports registered sales of 2.5 lakh units in the current quarter as against 2.9 lakh units in the third quarter of FY 21-22.
