TVS Motor Company launched the Jupiter 125 Dual Tone SmartXonnect variant today, expanding its popular Jupiter scooter lineup with enhanced styling and connectivity features. The new variant is priced at Rs 88,942 ex-showroom Delhi and is available across TVS dealerships nationwide.
The updated scooter introduces two dual-tone colour options - Ivory-Brown and Ivory Grey - along with redesigned body panels and a new seat design. The company positions the variant as targeting urban riders seeking both functionality and style in their daily commute vehicles.
Aniruddha Haldar, Senior Vice President at TVS Motor Company, said customers today view scooter purchases as investments reflecting their aspirations. He noted that following the Jupiter 110's success, updating the Jupiter 125 was a logical progression to offer riders enhanced performance, comfort and connectivity.
The Jupiter 125 Dual Tone retains the 124.8cc single-cylinder engine that produces 11.1 Nm torque at 4,500 rpm, incorporating the company's iGO Assist technology for improved acceleration while maintaining fuel efficiency. The scooter features what TVS claims is the segment's longest seat with pillion backrest for enhanced comfort.
Storage capacity remains a key selling point with 33 litres of under-seat space that can accommodate two helmets, plus a 2-litre front glove compartment. The scooter includes front fuel-fill capability and runs on TVS's Metal Maxx body construction with metal panels for durability.
The SmartXonnect feature introduces a digital reverse LCD console displaying call and SMS alerts, real-time mileage indicators, low fuel warnings and trip meter functions. The variant also incorporates larger front and rear tyres compared to previous models.
TVS Motor Company operates as one of India's established two and three-wheeler manufacturers with facilities in India and Indonesia. The company has won the Deming Prize and consistently ranks in J.D. Power quality and customer satisfaction surveys. The Jupiter series competes in India's 125cc scooter segment alongside offerings from Honda, Hero MotoCorp and Suzuki.
The Indian scooter market has shown consistent growth over recent years, with 125cc variants gaining popularity among urban consumers seeking more power than entry-level models while maintaining fuel economy. TVS positions the Jupiter lineup under its "Zyada" philosophy, emphasizing delivering more features and value compared to competitors.
The company's Jupiter brand has established itself in the Indian market since its introduction, competing primarily on storage space, comfort features and build quality. The dual-tone variant launch represents TVS's effort to refresh the model's appeal while maintaining its core positioning in the competitive 125cc segment.
