TVS Motor Company Partners with Aegis Rider to Launch Heads-Up Display Helmet at EICMA 2025

TVS Motor Company showcased a heads-up display AR helmet at EICMA 2025, the world's largest two-wheeler exhibition, following a partnership with Swiss deep-tech startup Aegis Rider.

The helmet uses spatial anchoring and augmented reality technology to project navigation, hazard alerts, and call notifications directly in the rider's line of sight. The system employs patented technology that anchors information in space, maintaining its position relative to the motorcycle regardless of head movement.

Live demonstrations at the TVS pavilion featured the technology integrated with the TVS RTR 310 motorcycle, allowing attendees to experience the helmet's capabilities firsthand.

Technical Specifications

The Aegis Rider HUD Helmet incorporates a magnetic binocular AR glass and µOLED projector within a carbon fiber shell. The device features adaptive brightness and anti-glare properties for visibility across different lighting conditions.

A Qualcomm processor powers the system, supported by a 7,000mAh rechargeable battery providing four hours of operation. The helmet connects wirelessly to motorcycle infotainment systems and smartphones, offering real-time navigation, call and message alerts, music control, and an integrated 5MP action camera.

The helmet meets ECE 22.06 and DOT safety certifications.

Product Development

Simon Hecker, founder and CEO of Aegis Rider, stated the company has worked for five years to develop the spatial anchoring technology. The standalone helmet displays information typically shown on motorcycle dashboards in a head-up format. An integrated version developed with TVS and Norton will provide additional data including turn signals, RPM, fuel level, and gear position.

Future developments plan to incorporate ride assistance features, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) connectivity, and cloud-based ride analytics.

TVS Connect Ecosystem

The helmet was displayed in the TVS Connect zone alongside other connectivity solutions. The exhibition also featured the TVS X, India's first Android Auto-integrated electric scooter developed with Google, offering wireless pairing, navigation, and hands-free communication through Google Assistant.

TVS demonstrated its Connected Services suite, which integrates smartwatches, phones, vehicles, and home devices.

TVS Motor Company operates four manufacturing facilities in India and Indonesia and distributes products across more than 90 countries. The company has received the Deming Prize and leads in J.D. Power IQS, APEAL, and Customer Service Satisfaction surveys. Norton Motorcycles, a TVS group company based in the United Kingdom, manufactures premium motorcycles, while TVS e-bike Company AG maintains a market position in Switzerland's e-bike sector.

Aegis Rider AG, headquartered in Zürich, specializes in augmented reality technology for mobility applications. The company's proprietary tracking algorithm enables spatial placement of 3D content relative to moving vehicles. Beyond motorcycles, Aegis Rider partners with automotive manufacturers to develop AR helmets for racing applications.
