TVS Motor Company is all set to reveal a slew of models at the upcoming EICMA 2025 show at Milan. The brand has begun official previews of its EICMA 2025 line-up starting with the new M1-S electric maxi-scooter. The M1-S marks TVS’s entry into the fast-growing electric maxi-scooter segment and underscores the company’s global ambitions in premium electric mobility.

Developed in collaboration with ION Mobility, a Singapore-based EV startup in which TVS is a strategic investor, the M1-S represents a fusion of Southeast Asian design sensibilities and TVS’s engineering expertise. The scooter was originally known as the ION M1-S, but it now carries the TVS badge following significant technical input and development support from the Indian manufacturer across product engineering, operations, and intellectual property.

Powering the new TVS M1-S is a 4.3kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with an electric motor that produces 16.76bhp and 45Nm of peak torque. TVS claims the scooter can accelerate from 0–50kph in just 3.7 seconds, and go on to achieve a top speed of 105kph. On a single charge, the M1-S delivers a range of up to 150km, making it one of the more capable electric scooters in its class.

In terms of design, the M1-S has a sleek, aerodynamic profile typical of a maxi-scooter, but with a sporty edge. The front fascia features twin LED headlamps with eyebrow-style DRLs and integrated turn indicators, lending it a futuristic appearance. The scooter also gets a flat floorboard, a contoured single-piece seat, and a slim rear grab rail, balancing practicality with a stylish, urban commuter aesthetic.

The M1-S comes equipped with a 7-inch TFT display offering smartphone connectivity, music and call control, turn-by-turn navigation, and SMS alerts. It’s also expected to feature a smart key system for added convenience, hinting at a strong focus on tech and user experience.

The scooter is expected to first go on sale in Indonesia, before making its way to other markets, including India. There is no confirmation from TVS for an India launch as of now. If the scooter comes to India, it could play a crucial role in TVS’s plans to establish a stronger footprint in the global electric two-wheeler space, positioning itself alongside rivals like the Yamaha E01, Honda EM1 e, and BMW CE 02. If introduced in India, it will be a premium offering from the brand in the electric scooter space that does not have any major contender currently.
