Tsuyo Manufacturing has secured a new business programme worth approximately US$3.2 million annually from a leading Indian OEM for its next-generation Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) motor for electric three-wheelers.
The programme is expected to run for 10 years and covers product supply, technical support, service and after-sales support. The engagement will extend across the vehicle lifecycle, according to the company.
Tsuyo IPM Motor Specifications
The motor developed for the programme is a Heavy Rare Earth (HRE)-free Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) featuring an Interior Permanent Magnet rotor architecture. Tsuyo said the motor has maximum system efficiency of up to 93 percent.
The motor uses Hall Effect feedback and air cooling, and has an IP65 protection grade without a connector.
Tsuyo Director – In-charge, Sales & Services, Prashant Ranjan, said the 10-year programme will require the company to maintain product supply, technical support, service and after-sales capabilities throughout the vehicle lifecycle.
The company said the programme adds to its electric powertrain engagements across commercial mobility applications. Its product development and manufacturing activities cover motors, controllers and integrated electric powertrain systems for electric three-wheelers, light commercial vehicles, medium and heavy commercial vehicles and other mobility applications.
The programme will also see Tsuyo provide technical assistance, service and after-sales support in addition to component supply. The company said these requirements are relevant to electric commercial vehicle applications where reliability, uptime, serviceability and application-specific powertrain performance are considerations for OEMs and fleet operators.
Tsuyo's 10-Year Supply, Service and After-Sales Support
Tsuyo manufactures electric motors, controllers and integrated powertrain systems ranging from 0.5kW to 400kW. The company operates two manufacturing facilities in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and said it has sold more than 200,000 motors and partnered with more than 50 OEMs.
