Triumph Motorcycles Crosses 1 Lakh Sales Mark in India
The British motorcycle brand, in partnership with Bajaj Auto since 2023, has reached the milestone within two and a half years of entering the Indian market.
Triumph Motorcycles has surpassed the 1 lakh (100,000) unit sales milestone on Indian roads, according to an announcement by Bajaj Auto on Monday. The achievement marks a significant moment for the UK-based brand, which entered the Indian market in Q2 2023 through a manufacturing and distribution partnership with Bajaj Auto.
Since the partnership commenced, Triumph has expanded its retail network to more than 230 stores across over 200 towns in India. The collaboration combines Triumph's engineering heritage with Bajaj Auto's domestic research, manufacturing, and distribution infrastructure.
The Triumph 400 series, manufactured in India, is now exported to 18 countries including Japan, Australia, Mexico, Taiwan, and South Korea. The range has been credited with establishing a foothold in India's mid-capacity motorcycle segment.
"Reaching 1 lakh Triumph motorcycles on Indian roads within just 2.5 years is a proud milestone for us," said Manik Nangia, President of Probiking at Bajaj Auto.
Beyond retail sales, Triumph has built a riding community in India through events such as the World of Triumph, the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride, Triumph Tiger Trails, Scrambler Rides, and Bike Nights.
Founded in 1902, Triumph Motorcycles is the UK's largest motorcycle manufacturer and holds the Guinness World Record for the greatest distance travelled on a motorcycle in 24 hours, set in 2023. The brand also serves as the exclusive engine supplier to the Moto2™ World Championship.
