The Tata Power Company Limited and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEM) have inaugurated Telangana's first high-speed TATA.ev MegaCharger Hub at iLabs Centre Pvt. Ltd. in Hyderabad's Hitech City.
The hub is equipped with a total charging capacity of 360 kW across three 120 kW dispensers, allowing up to six electric vehicles to charge simultaneously. It operates 24x7 and is intended to serve private vehicle owners, commercial fleets, ride-hailing services, intercity travellers and corporate commuters in the area.
The companies said the facility is designed to meet rising demand for EV charging infrastructure in Hyderabad, which they described as one of India's fastest-growing technology and business hubs, while supporting Telangana's broader sustainability goals.
The inauguration was attended by Jitesh Patel (IAS), CMD, Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) and Gopalakrishnan VC, Director of Automotive and EV Sector Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Telangana, along with representatives from TATA Power and TATA Motors.
The hub is part of the broader TATA.ev MegaCharger network operated by Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, which the company said now has more than 750 charging points across key corridors and cities in India. Many of these are accessible through the Tata Power EZ Charge App, which has over 500,000 registered users, according to the company.
Tata Power said its overall EV charging network now spans more than 6,500 public charging points across over 700 cities and towns, covering highways, airports, workplaces, commercial sites, residential communities and transit corridors. The company has also installed more than 230,000 home chargers in partnership with automotive manufacturers.
Tata Power is part of the Tata Group and operates a power generation, transmission and distribution portfolio of 16.3 GW, of which the company says 7.5 GW comes from clean energy sources. The company has set a target of achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.
