Tata Motors Unveils 'Festival of GST' Campaign with Up to ₹1.5 Lakh Price Cuts

Tata Motors has launched an aggressive 'Festival of GST' campaign, offering substantial price reductions and additional benefits across its entire passenger vehicle portfolio following the recent GST 2.0 implementation. The automaker is providing total benefits of up to ₹2 lakh on select models, with the offer valid until September 30, 2025.

The festival campaign combines post-GST price reductions with additional festive benefits, resulting in significant savings for customers. The Nexon leads the pack with total benefits of up to ₹2 lakh, including a price reduction of ₹1.55 lakh and additional benefits worth ₹45,000. The newly launched Curvv also sees substantial benefits totaling ₹1.07 lakh despite being a recent addition to the portfolio.

Premium SUVs Harrier and Safari receive benefits of ₹1.94 lakh and ₹1.98 lakh respectively, making these feature-loaded vehicles more attractive in the competitive SUV segment. The popular Punch compact SUV gets total benefits of ₹1.58 lakh, while the Altroz premium hatchback receives ₹1.76 lakh in combined benefits.

Prices Roll Back to Historic Levels

In a remarkable development, several Tata models are now priced at or below their original launch prices from years ago. The Punch, now starting at ₹5.49 lakh, returns to its 2021 launch price – effectively erasing four years of price inflation. Even more striking, the Tiago at ₹4.57 lakh is now priced lower than its 2020 launch price, offering exceptional value in the entry-level segment.

Tata Motors seems to have gone beyond the GST benefit on models like Punch, Nexon, and Harrier, absorbing additional costs to make their vehicles more accessible during the festive season. The reduction in Nexon's pricing, for example, is 17.5%.

Feature-Rich Variants

The campaign particularly highlights the value proposition of feature-loaded variants. The Nexon Creative variant, priced at ₹9.99 lakh, comes equipped with premium features including a 360° HD Surround View System, R16 alloy wheels, push-button start, fully automatic temperature control, a 26.03 cm HARMAN touchscreen infotainment system, LED headlamps, and a cooled glove box – features typically found in vehicles priced significantly higher.

The recently launched Harrier and Safari Adventure+ trims, which debuted in August 2025 with competitive pricing, now present an even stronger value proposition with the additional GST benefits and festive offers.

Strategic Response to Market Competition

Tata Motors' aggressive pricing strategy comes as the entire automotive industry responds to the GST revision. Market leader Maruti Suzuki has also announced substantial price cuts of up to ₹1.3 lakh across its range, intensifying competition in the market. The timing of these reductions, coinciding with the festive season, is expected to boost vehicle sales significantly.

Complete Pricing Details

The new ex-showroom starting prices after GST are:

  • Tiago: ₹4.57 lakh (reduction of ₹75,000)
  • Tigor: ₹5.48 lakh (reduction of ₹81,000)
  • Punch: ₹5.49 lakh (reduction of ₹1.08 lakh)
  • Altroz: ₹6.30 lakh (reduction of ₹1.11 lakh)
  • Nexon: ₹7.31 lakh (reduction of ₹1.55 lakh)
  • Curvv: ₹9.65 lakh (reduction of ₹67,000)
  • Harrier: ₹13.99 lakh (reduction of ₹1.44 lakh)
  • Safari: ₹14.66 lakh (reduction of ₹1.48 lakh)

Market Implications

This aggressive pricing move by Tata Motors is expected to shake up the passenger vehicle market during the crucial festive season. With the company's market share in SUVs already strong, these price reductions could further consolidate its position, particularly in the compact and mid-size SUV segments where the Punch, Nexon, and Harrier compete.

The 'Festival of GST' campaign represents one of the most significant price corrections in recent years, making Tata vehicles more accessible to a broader customer base while maintaining the brand's focus on safety, features, and value. With the offer valid until September 30, 2025, customers have a limited window to take advantage of these exceptional benefits.

Industry analysts predict this could trigger a wave of bookings in the coming weeks as customers rush to capitalize on the rare combination of GST benefits, festive offers, and competitive pricing across Tata Motors' entire range.
