Tata Motors opens new EV retail stores in Kochi

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility launches two TATA.ev retail stores in Edappally and Kalamassery, these stores aim to provide an improved purchasing experience for electric vehicle customers.

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, has unveiled two new EV-exclusive retail stores under the TATA.ev brand in Kochi, Kerala. The stores are located in Edappally and Kalamassery and aim to offer a distinctive purchasing and ownership experience tailored for the electric vehicle (EV) market.

Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, commented, “Kerala, with its 5.6% EV penetration, is a key market for electric mobility. The state has shown significant interest in advanced technologies, making it an ideal location for our new TATA.ev stores. We aim to offer both a sophisticated purchase experience and a digitised ownership journey. In addition, we will soon open five exclusive EV service centers in key cities across Kerala. These steps are part of our ongoing efforts to support the growth of EV adoption in India.”

The Tata Nexon EV is powered by a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which provides a peak power of 129 hp and a torque of 245 Nm. It offers an ARAI-certified range of approximately 315 km on a single charge. The vehicle supports fast charging, with an 80% charge achievable in around 60 minutes using a DC fast charger.

For AC charging, it takes about 8 hours to go from 0% to 100%. The Nexon EV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 9.9 seconds. Its dimensions include a length of 3993 mm, a width of 1811 mm, a height of 1607 mm, and a wheelbase of 2498 mm. The vehicle is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, and multiple driving modes.

The Tata Currv EV features a 40 kWh battery pack and an electric motor that produces approximately 143 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It offers a range of up to 400 km on a single charge, depending on driving conditions and usage. The Currv EV supports fast charging, with an 80% charge achievable in about 60 minutes via a DC fast charger, while AC charging from 0% to 100% takes approximately 10 hours. 

The vehicle is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 8 seconds. The Currv EV has a length of around 4500 mm, a width of 1850 mm, and a height of 1600 mm, offering a spacious interior and ample cargo capacity. It includes a large touchscreen infotainment system, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, and a modern digital instrument panel.
