Tata Motors introduces limited-production Stealth variants of Safari and Harrier SUVs, featuring matte black finish and advanced technology suite, with production restricted to 2,700 units nationwide.
Tata Motors announced today the launch of a limited-edition Stealth variant of its popular SUVs, the Safari and Harrier, commemorating 27 years since the Safari's introduction to the Indian market. The company will manufacture only 2,700 units of this special edition, reflecting the milestone anniversary.
The Harrier Stealth is positioned at ₹25.09 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi), while the Safari Stealth, available in both 6 and 7-seater configurations, starts at ₹25.74 lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi).
The Stealth Edition introduces a distinctive matte black finish, marking a significant design departure from the standard models. This special variant is now available for booking through both online channels and Tata Motors' dealership network across India.
Speaking at the launch event, Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., said, ''Tata Motors has long been at the forefront of the SUV segment in India, with innovation deeply embedded in its DNA. The Tata Safari, which introduced the concept of a lifestyle SUV to the Indian market, stands as a testament to this spirit of pioneering excellence. With 27 years of unbeatable legacy, the Tata Safari has continually evolved, and the launch of the Stealth Edition is a salute to the same. This special edition is a premium, exclusive release, with only 2,700 units of the enigmatic Stealth Matte Black finish being made available.''
The new variants are built on the OMEGARC platform, derived from Land Rover's D8 architecture. Notable features include R19 Black Alloy Wheels and ventilated seating in both first and second rows for the Safari variant. The interior showcases a Carbon-Noir theme and includes voice-controlled dual-zone climate control.
The technology package comprises a 31.24 cm Harman touchscreen infotainment system, integrated with various features including the Arcade App Store and Alexa Home 2 Car connectivity. The vehicles also feature Map my India navigation and a 26.03 cm digital instrument cluster, complemented by a JBL 10-speaker audio system.
Under the hood, both models are equipped with a KRYOTEC 2.0L BS6 Phase 2 turbocharged engine, producing 170PS and mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Stealth Edition also introduces advanced safety features, including Level 2+ ADAS with 21 functionalities, notably the segment-first Intelligent Speed Assist. Additional safety measures include seven airbags and ESP with 17 distinct safety functions.
Industry analysts note that this limited edition release comes at a time when the premium SUV segment in India is experiencing significant growth, with increasing demand for distinctive, high-end variants among urban consumers.
