Tata Motors Launches Electric Pickup Truck at Rs. 11.95 Lakh, Expanding EV Commercial Fleet

Tata Motors has introduced the Intra EV Pickup, a new electric light commercial vehicle priced at Rs. 11.95 lakh (ex-showroom), as the company moves to broaden its electric commercial vehicle lineup. The announcement, made in Mumbai on Tuesday, positions the vehicle as an entry point into electric cargo mobility for small business operators and fleet owners.

The pickup is built on the existing Intra platform and features a 72 kW electric motor producing 230 Nm of torque, a 28.2 kWh IP67-rated battery, and a certified range of 211 km on a single charge. The vehicle supports fast charging via a CCS2 charger, reaching 10 to 80 percent charge in approximately 55 minutes. A payload capacity of 1,750 kg and load body options of up to 10 feet 2 inches are intended to serve sectors including e-commerce, cold-chain logistics, dairy distribution, and waste management.

Girish Wagh, Managing Director and CEO of Tata Motors Ltd., stated that the launch reflects the company's intent to address a range of commercial mobility needs through electric solutions. He noted that the company's electric bus operations now span ten cities, and that electric trucks were introduced earlier in the year ahead of this pickup launch.

The Intra EV Pickup comes with a six-year or two-lakh-kilometre high-voltage battery warranty. Safety features include an Electronic Braking System and three-level regenerative braking. Tata Motors Fleet Edge, the company's connected fleet management platform, is included as standard, offering real-time tracking and predictive maintenance tools.

To support adoption, Tata Motors points to a network of over 25,000 charging points, more than 200 dedicated electric vehicle service centres, and home-charging facilitation. Financing arrangements have been set up in partnership with banks and non-banking financial companies. The vehicle will be available through Tata Motors' existing commercial vehicle dealer network.

The Intra EV Pickup joins the Ace EV 1000 and Ace Pro EV in Tata Motors' small commercial vehicle electric range. The company, part of the Tata Group, is India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer and operates across markets in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
