Tata Motors Integrates Dolby Atmos into Harrier.ev
The audio system is powered by a 10-speaker JBL setup and includes 6.5” speakers.
Tata Motors has partnered with Dolby Laboratories to introduce Dolby Atmos in the Harrier.ev electric SUV. This collaboration marks Dolby's entry into Tata Motors’ passenger EV portfolio, expanding its presence in the Indian automotive audio market.
The Harrier.ev will feature a built-in Dolby Atmos audio experience, accessible through compatible applications like Gaana and Audible, integrated via the Arcade.ev app store in the vehicle’s infotainment system. The audio system is powered by a 10-speaker JBL setup, including 6.5” speakers, tweeters, a dashboard mid-range speaker, and a subwoofer, supported by an 8-channel amplifier.
The integration uses fixed speaker placements and optimized seating arrangements to deliver spatial audio throughout the cabin. The goal is to enhance audio clarity and depth for music, podcasts, and other content.
Karan Grover, Senior Director of Commercial Partnerships at Dolby Laboratories, said the company is focused on working with OEMs to improve in-car entertainment. Anand Kulkarni, Chief Product Officer at Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, stated that the collaboration is in line with Tata’s approach to improve customer experience in its EV lineup.
